Claude, through its connector directory, and ChatGPT, through its plugin directory. In Claude Code, install the Briefcase plugin. Other MCP clients can add Briefcase as a custom connector using the server address. See the set-up guide.
It can only do what your Briefcase permissions allow. Publishing, archiving, raising invoices and posting journals always start with a preview of what would change, and the assistant goes ahead only when you agree. Workspace admins can also turn changes off and keep reads on.
Yes. Documents, transactions, expense claims, bank statements, month-end schedules and help all work for Xero and QuickBooks clients. Reports, journals, sales invoices and bank feed lines need Briefcase Ledger, which covers 11 of the tools.
No. The assistant never moves money. It cannot make payments, transfer funds or send invoices to your clients’ customers.
Anything the assistant asks Briefcase for is sent to that assistant’s provider, such as Anthropic or OpenAI, so only connect assistants your firm has approved for client data. You can see every change an assistant made in Settings → AI assistants, and disconnect it at any time. How Briefcase protects your information.
Assistant connections are enabled per workspace. If the connect page says they are not enabled for yours, ask your Briefcase contact.
