Briefcase scans every document for an explicit mention of an invoice due date. Our AI is trained to interpret payment terms like "Paid", "Due 30", "Due in 14 days" etc.

For **receipts,** as the document type is always assumed to be paid, we set the due date to be the **invoice date.**

For **invoices,** we either populate the extracted due date or **default to +30 days** if no explicit mention is found.
