Briefcase syncs with Xero and QuickBooks automatically every night. To sync straight away, go to the **Dashboard** and click **Sync** in the Actions column next to the client.

A sync refreshes the client's chart of accounts, tracking categories (Xero) or classes (QuickBooks), tax rates, currencies and organisation details, exactly as when the client was first connected. It does not re-import contacts.

New account codes appear the next time you open or refresh an invoice.

If a sync fails, try again. If it keeps failing, disconnect and reconnect the client from the Dashboard.
